Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Cozy: Daily Affirmations app for iPhone ("Cozy", "the app") handles your information. Cozy is published by Andre Kempe, an individual based in Switzerland ("I", "me").
What the app stores on your device
To choose affirmations that suit you, the app saves the following on your iPhone only:
- The name you enter, if you enter one.
- Your answers to the onboarding questions: your goals and focus topics, age group, gender, relationship status and life situation. Every question offers "Prefer not to say" or can be skipped.
- Your favorite affirmations and recently viewed topics.
- Your theme settings, including any photo you choose for a custom theme. Only the photo you pick is copied into the app; Cozy can't see the rest of your photo library.
- Your reminder times. Reminders are scheduled on your device, not sent from a server.
- The affirmations shown in the Cozy widget, which the app and widget share on your device.
None of this is sent to me or to anyone else. The app has no account, makes no network requests and contains no third-party code, analytics, advertising or tracking.
Backups
Like other app data, this information may be included in your iCloud or computer backups if you have them turned on. Apple handles those backups under Apple's privacy policy; I have no access to them.
Sharing
When you tap Share on an affirmation or share the app with a friend, iOS shows its standard share sheet. You choose where the text goes; the app itself doesn't send anything.
Permissions
- Notifications: only used for the reminders you set. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
- Photos: Cozy uses Apple's photo picker, which gives the app only the photo you select.
Deleting your data
Go to Settings → Your data → Delete my data in the app to remove your favorites, themes, goal, name, answers and reminders. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.
Children
Cozy is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either; everything stays on the device.
Your rights
Because I don't collect or hold any personal data, there is nothing for me to access, correct or delete on your behalf: it is all on your device and under your control. You still have the rights given to you by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and you are welcome to contact me with any question.
App Store
Apple may collect information when you download the app or contact Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy. I don't receive personal information about you from Apple.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update it on this page and change the date above. If the app ever starts collecting data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
