Affirmations are a great source of inspiration for me. I really enjoy using them. Many times, I’ve seen how they can gently reframe our thinking, and in doing so, essentially change our lives.
What Are Affirmations?
Affirmations are short, positive statements that influence both our conscious and subconscious minds, positively affecting how we feel and act.
Every day, a sea of thoughts flows through our minds. If you pay attention, you’ll notice that it can sometimes feel like a storm—and quite often, these thoughts carry a negative undertone.
- “I’m not good enough.”
- “I can’t do it.”
- “Today is not going my way.”
- “I’m definitely going to be late again.”
- “No one will help me.”
- “I don’t have any money.”
- “I’m tired and have no energy.”
Everyone can fill in their own recurring negative thoughts that accompany them through their daily lives.
It’s important to realize that every thought is like a seed. When it falls into the fertile soil of our subconscious, it can sprout and grow.
What we sow, we reap.
We can replace negative thoughts with ones that serve us better.
How to Make Positive Thinking a Habit
Start by observing how you express yourself. What do you say about yourself, and how do you think about yourself? Listen to your inner voice and watch your thoughts. Gradually, begin to consciously replace negative thoughts with positive ones. It might not happen right away, but over time you will succeed.
- “What I do brings me joy.”
- “I feel that I can achieve this.”
- “Today is a beautiful day.”
- “I always arrive on time.”
- “Help is available to me whenever I need it.”
- “Abundance is flowing to me from all directions.”
- “I am grateful that my income is greater than my expenses.”
- “I am full of energy.”

Our Thoughts Shape Our Future
Affirmations help us form our thinking and set our subconscious mind in a positive direction. Thoughts are like magnets that attract events into our lives. Affirmations shape our future.
How to Work with Affirmations Properly
- Choose an affirmation: Pick one that resonates with you.
- Write it down: Perhaps in a planner, on a sticky note, or on a piece of paper you can rewrite several times.
- Place it somewhere visible: On your computer monitor, above the kitchen counter, in your wallet, on a mirror—wherever comes to mind.
- Repeat it consciously: Throughout the day, whenever you think of it, repeat it. Let it become part of you.
- Replace negativity: Whenever a familiar negative thought creeps in, consciously replace it with a positive affirmation.
- Be creative! You can create your own affirmations based on what you want to attract into your life.
